Fire-rated rock-wool panels for envelopes that have to hold fire

A non-combustible insulated metal panel for building envelopes. The core is mineral fiber, not foam. Specify it when the wall, partition, or ceiling has to be a fire barrier and still insulate.

Non-combustible rock-wool core

Mineral fiber made from natural basalt and recycled slag. Inorganic, fully recyclable, and it does not contribute fuel to a fire.

1 HR, 2 HR, and 3 HR fire rated

Specify 1 HR fire rated, 2 HR fire rated, or 3 HR fire rated panels by thickness. 45-minute ratings available too.

Thermal resistance that holds

Excellent insulation with R-value that stays stable over time. Continuous core, no thermal bridges at the joint.

Acoustic and humidity control

The mineral fiber core absorbs sound and the metal skins act as a humidity barrier. One panel, three jobs.

Pressure-balanced rain screen

Built-in rain-screen detailing for exterior envelopes. Vertical mounting is made for outdoor walls.

L-joint, concealed anchors

L-joint with a dedicated clip-and-fastener system that anchors to the structure inside the joint, not on the face.

Wind and tear resistance

Steel skins bonded to a dense mineral core take wind load and job-site handling without tearing at the joint.

Insulation and finish, one step

Factory-finished panel for interior partitions, interior ceilings, and outdoor walls. No extra insulation or finish trade.

Fire-rated rock-wool (mineral fiber) core panel

The core is rock fiber from natural basalt and recycled slag. Those inorganic materials make the panel non-combustible and fully recyclable. Specify 1 HR, 2 HR, or 3 HR fire rated by thickness, with thermal insulation, acoustic control, and a humidity barrier in the same panel.

Mineral wool insulated metal panels ready for industrial wall installation

Where fire wall panels are specified

Factories, warehouses, food plants, hospitals, schools, and residences. Interior or exterior, depending on the spec.

Interior fire walls in factories

Separate production, storage, and occupied areas without waiting on block. A mineral-fiber IMP wall goes up as a finished fire-rated partition.

Thermal and fire partitions

Split a plant floor where one side is hot, noisy, or a different occupancy. You get hourly fire resistance and insulation in the same plane.

High-risk area containment

Protect machinery, isolate process equipment, or create a fire-containment zone around a hazard without shutting the rest of the building down.

Hospitals, schools, residences

Mineral-fiber fire panels are specified for government and institutional buildings that need a rated wall plus acoustic and thermal control.

Warehouses and food plants

Fire-rated metal wall panels for warehouses and food processing that need both a code fire wall and clean, washable skins.

Interior ceilings and outdoor walls

The same panel mounts as an interior ceiling, an interior partition, or a vertically installed exterior wall, depending on the spec.

Industrial walls, not renderings

L-joint, core, and envelope work. The same panel type used for fire-rated partitions, ceilings, and exterior skins.

Fire-rated IMP questions buyers actually ask

Straight answers for GCs, plant managers, and specifiers comparing 1 HR, 2 HR, and 3 HR fire rated metal wall panels.

What are fire-rated insulated metal panels?

+

Fire-rated IMPs are steel-faced sandwich panels with a non-combustible rock-wool (mineral fiber) core. Specs typically call for 1 HR, 2 HR, or 3 HR fire rated walls. One panel provides the fire wall, the insulation, the humidity barrier, and the finished surfaces.

Do you supply 1 HR, 2 HR, and 3 HR fire rated panels?

+

Yes. 1 HR fire rated, 2 HR fire rated, and 3 HR fire rated insulated metal panels, plus 45-minute ratings. Thickness sets the hourly rating. Send the spec. We match a documented assembly.

How much fire resistance do mineral wool IMP panels provide?

+

Typical specs call for 1 HR, 2 HR, or 3 HR fire rated walls. Ratings also include 45 minutes. Send the hourly rating in your spec and we will match a documented assembly. Do not guess a rating from a photo.

When do I need fire-rated partition wall panels instead of standard IMPs?

+

Use mineral-fiber fire-rated panels when the wall must be a fire barrier or fire wall: occupancy separation, hazardous-area containment, protection of equipment, or a rated partition inside a factory, warehouse, hospital, school, or residence. Standard foam-core IMPs are Class A for surface burning. They are not a substitute for an hourly fire-rated wall.

Can these panels be used indoors and outdoors, including ceilings?

+

Yes. The same fire-rated rock-wool panel is specified for interior partitions, interior ceilings, and exterior walls. Outdoor walls use vertical mounting and a built-in pressure-balanced rain screen. Indoor vs outdoor is a spec choice, not a different product family.

Do fire-resistant metal wall panels also insulate heat and noise?

+

Yes. The mineral fiber core is a thermal insulator whose resistance stays stable over time, and it is a sound absorber. That is why these panels are used as plant partitions and in institutional buildings: they hold fire, cut heat transfer, and quiet adjacent spaces without a second insulation layer.
